Cierra Hill is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger and educator, currently residing in the Twin Cities of Minnesota. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in Strings Performance from McNally Smith College of Music in 2012 and has been performing professionally in a variety of musical styles for over 10 years. Born to a musical family, she began learning music on the piano at the age of 2 and began violin lessons at age 9. Currently, Cierra plays with many local musicians in the Twin Cities, including Mick Sterling, Shalo Lee and Kat Perkins. She also plays electric violin in the video game band Do a Barrel Roll, and is currently recording a new album with the band! She plays in a variety of shows, including An Andy and Bing Christmas, Eltonsongs (Elton John), A Beautiful Vision (Van Morrison), From Barry: A Tribute to the Bee Gees, A Billy Joel State of Mind and Born to Run (Bruce Springsteen), as well as Rainy Days and Mondays: the Music of the Carpenters, with Boyd and Aimee Lee.
Cierra specializes in many styles and is a teacher of classical and alternative styles in Violin, Mandolin, Viola, Cello and Piano at Simply Strings Studio in Saint Paul and Schmitt Music in Minnetonka, Minnesota. In addition to live performance, private lessons and clinics, she also spends time in the studio, recording for both local and international artists.
